MotoGP hits the big screen: Idols movie arrives in cinemas

The feature film Idols is set to premiere in Czech cinemas in the coming days. The Spanish-Italian co-production was also filmed during actual MotoGP race weekends, lending the story an unmistakable sense of authenticity. Several stars of the championship appear in cameo roles, including Marc Márquez, Álex Márquez, Fabio Quartararo and other familiar faces from the paddock.

The gala pre-premiere took place on February 25 in Prague in collaboration with the general partner Automotodrom Brno. Among the distinguished guests were Autoklub of the Czech Republic president Jan Šťovíček; Jiří Hrouda from the CREDITAS Group; former and current riders Ondřej Ježek, Michal Šembera, Ondřej Vostatek, Oliver König, Daniel Tureček and Roman Durdis, MotoGP grid girl Tereza Blaťáková, influencer Filip Ondrášek, Motohouse editor-in-chief Karel Táborský and many other prominent figures from the world of motorsport.

So what is the film about? It follows Edu Serra, a talented rider with zero respect for authority. His ultimate dream is MotoGP, but first he must prove in Moto2 that he truly is the exceptional talent some believe him to be. Helping him chase that dream is the one man he would least want by his side: his own father, a former motorcycle champion. Bound by blood yet divided by past grievances, the two men reunite on the racetrack in pursuit of a shared goal.
