MotoGP in Brno to Support a Good Cause: Surplus Food from the Grand Prix to Be Donated to People in Need
19. 6. 2026
Following this weekend’s Monster Energy Grand Prix of Czechia at Creditas Autodrom Brno, surplus food from the event will be donated to people in need. The initiative is part of the Save Lunch (Zachraň oběd) project, which aims to ensure that leftover meals are put to good use instead of going to waste after the event.
Thanks to a partnership between the Zachraň oběd organisation, logistics company DODO, catering provider Valoria Restaurant, the race organisers and the MotoGP championship promoter, meals from the VIP hospitality areas will be redistributed after the races to those who need them most. Food that meets the required quality standards will be delivered to the Brno branch of the Armada spasy on Sunday afternoon.
“Our Zachraň oběd project demonstrates that donating surplus food can be a simple and practical part of even the largest events. When organisers, caterers, logistics partners and aid organisations work together, quality meals can find a new purpose within hours instead of ending up in the bin. The same principle is already working across the Czech Republic in school and commercial cafeterias, as well as other food-service operations, which can join the project and safely donate unused meals to people in need,” said Veronika Laštovičková of the Zachraň jídlo organisation.
Logistics play a crucial role in the project, and that part of the operation will be handled by DODO.
“Over four years of active involvement in the Zachraň oběd project, we have delivered more than 50,000 meals that might otherwise have gone to waste. We are pleased to support such a major event as MotoGP in Brno by doing what we do best – providing fast and reliable urban logistics. Efficient transport is often the key factor in ensuring that quality food reaches the people who can truly benefit from it,” added Adam Rapák of DODO.
“For us, the Grand Prix is not only a sporting event but also an opportunity to demonstrate that a major event can have a positive impact beyond the racetrack,” said Miroslav Bartoš, Chief Executive Officer of Creditas Autodrom Brno. “We are proud to be part of an initiative that combines world-class motorsport with a responsible approach and meaningful support for those who need it most,” he concluded.
